The first annual Screentest Film Festival, the largest national student filmmaking festival in the UK hosted by the National Student Film Association, begins today! This year the festival is being held at the University of Bristol. Next year’s host will be decided at the NSFA AGM on Sunday, at which time the new NSFA council of 2010 will be elected. I have nominated myself for Chairperson, but that is only part of why I am here in Bristol. Aside from the opportunity to meet distinguished industry professionals at the festival, such as Producers Paul Appleby and Sam Hodgson, Writer / Director Peter Hinton (The Acadamy) and Sound Recordist David Bekkevold to name a few, the opportunity to view full length student-made films is a rare and exciting one. And this weekend I’ll be reporting on all the excitement here, on The Saint Screen Blog!
Tonight, I’ll be attending the welcome party, a screening of this year’s BAFTA-nominated shorts with a Q&A, and the opening night party. Stay tuned!
